Avoided a Restaurant Visit!
Well Lorie and I believe we need to take care of those who take care of us. Usually this means a stop at Third Base for some barley pops and either a pizza or sandwichs.
Not this time.
Instead I invited Jerry to visit YAPPie Place in our current residence and we would cook up some pizza pies and server beer out of our garage (currently doubling as a refrigerator) he accepted.
Not only did we save money, but he concurred with this sentiment:
This is pizza III in my current pizza pie cooking kick. This, in my opinion, is my best pizza effort EVER.
by saying the pizza was the best he ever had.
We cooked two pizzas since the pizzas are not big enough to serve three (and three of us were there) and he had two beers. I had more! All in all, it did not require spending more money, it took advantage of money we had already booked as spent (for the most part some of the ingredients such as the flour were purchased a long time ago). Not only that, but there is the fact we went through the effort ourselves to make the pizza. That says a little more than whipping out the wad of cash or the thin slice of plastic.
Today I had cold pizza for lunch! Yummy!
Trying to change myself and you on thrift and savings! It is hard to save save save in a spend spend spend world, but it is better to save than spend!
