A Wise Proverb
another pretends to be poor, yet has great wealth.
Source: Proverbs 13:7.
Is not the wisdom of that passage becoming more & more apparent? A lot of people were buying big houses with little down. Then I bet they would hold lavish parties for their friends (with food & stuff bought on credit) in their nice new houses.
Now what is happening? The bubble is burst, the game is over, reality of everyone’s true wealth is now becoming apparent.
I remember the publisher of Forbes magazine talked about a visit to Green Bay. He noted that there is an amazing number of millionaires in Green Bay. However, he noted these millionaires did not drive around in fancy cars or live in spacious mansions, but instead were driving Fords, Chevys, and Chryslers and living in the same 1200 ft2 house they bought shortly after they married.
Wealth and ostentation are two different things, the Bible clearly tells us that in the quote above. You don’t have to carry on like a miserly hermit, but don’t aim to be featured on Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous either.
